About Pastor’s Shadow
Pastor’s Shadow exists to serve the Church by serving the pastor.
After decades of ministry, nonprofit leadership, and business ownership, our founder saw a repeated and painful pattern. Faithful pastors were carrying spiritual responsibility while quietly drowning under operational weight. Vision was strong. Calling was clear. But systems, finances, staffing, compliance, and execution were pulling pastors away from prayer, preaching, and people.
Pastor’s Shadow was born out of that burden.
Our Story
Founder Edward Rivera brings a rare blend of ministry formation and real world operational leadership. Before stepping into senior pastoral leadership, Edward owned and operated a mortgage company and led real estate and property renovation projects. Those years shaped how he thinks strategically, financially, and systemically.
At the same time, God was forming his pastoral calling. Edward earned a Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Nonprofit Administration and Leadership at Moody Bible Institute.
As a founding elder of CityLine Bible Church, Edward helped launch the church with no financial reserves and walked through every stage of growth. Over time, he served in progressively senior roles from part time pastor, to Connections and Operations Pastor, to Executive Operations Pastor, and now Executive Pastor of Stewardship. He also serves as Executive Director of CityLine Care Center, leading community based programs focused on dignity restoration and holistic care.
Through these years, one conviction became unmistakable. Administration is not a distraction from ministry. It is a spiritual gift when used in service of the Gospel.
Why Pastor’s Shadow Exists
Many pastors are deeply gifted spiritually but were never trained to think like organizational leaders. They love people, preach faithfully, and cast vision, yet they often lack the systems required to sustain growth. As a result, churches struggle, leaders burn out, and mission momentum stalls.
At the same time, most churches cannot afford a full time Executive Pastor, especially in the early and middle stages of growth.
Pastor’s Shadow exists to bridge that gap.
We provide seasoned executive leadership behind the scenes, aligning systems, stewardship, and structure with the church’s mission so pastors can focus on what only they can do. Shepherd people, proclaim the Word, and lead spiritually.
This work is especially for church planters, growing churches, and pastors carrying operational weight without executive support.
Our Philosophy
Pastor’s Shadow is built on a simple biblical model.
Like the Apostle Paul’s tentmaking, this work is designed to be both missionally faithful and financially sustainable. By operating as a for profit service, we are able to serve churches full time while remaining accountable, scalable, and focused on excellence.
This is not consulting from a distance.
It is shepherding the shepherd.
It is executive leadership in service of calling.
It is structure that protects the mission.
Our Commitment
We exist to quietly carry what pastors were never meant to carry alone so the Church can flourish, leaders can endure, and more people can be reached for Christ.
Pastor’s Shadow stands where vision meets execution, faithfully, discreetly, and for God’s glory.
Mission Statement
To serve as the invisible executive arm of the pastor, providing strategy, structure, and execution that protect the mission of the church and free pastors to lead with clarity, health, and faithfulness.
Vision Statement
A future where no pastor leads alone, churches are structurally aligned with their God-given mission, and spiritual leaders are supported with executive-level wisdom so they can shepherd people well, multiply disciples, and finish strong.
